2. Air France to Ivory Coast, you will have to drive to the  Liberian border. Note:Be prepared for searches by the Ivorian securities at various checkpoints.

Join us for an unforgettable week in Maryland County, Liberia, as we connect with our heritage, contribute to the community, and explore the beauty of the region!

Day 1 - Monday, December 7: Arrival & Welcome to Harper

  • 8:30 AM - 9:30 AM: Official Welcome & Kola Nuts Ceremony at the Administration Building, hosted by the Traditional Leaders/Chiefs, esteemed Superintendent & Maryland County women.

  • 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM: Medical Mission Volunteering Services at Pleebo Healthcare Center

    • 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM: Morning Session

    • 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM: Lunch Break

    • 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM: Afternoon Session

 

Day 2 - Tuesday, December 8: First tour - Bigtown (Gbenelu)

  • 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM: First Tour - Bigtown (Gbenelu)

    • Town Hall Meeting and distribution of clothing and school supplies.

    • 12:00 PM - Lunch

    • 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM Grand Cavalla and a visit to the historical Episcopal Church 

Day 3 - Wednesday, December 9: Community & Culture

  • 8:40 AM - 11:00 AM: Planting of Coconut Trees in Harper City (Volunteerism)

  • 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM: Youth Forum (visit to Maryland Vocational Institute.)

  • 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM: War Dance performance.

 

Day 4 - Thursday, December 10: Second tour - Hoffman River/Plunken

  • 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM (Noon): Harper City Exploration

    • Enjoy a scenic canoe ride on the Hoffman River to Plunken.

  • 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM: Lunch

  • 2:30 PM - 3:30 PM: Display by the Maryland Surfers at Dolly/Tubman beach

  • 4:00 PM - 6:30 PM: Ma Gray Beach/Island Activities

    • Beach volleyball

 

Day 5 - Friday, December 11: Third tour - Beaches & Coastal Towns

  • 8:40 AM -6:00 PM

    • Explore the picturesque shores of Fishtown, and Rocktown beaches

    • Town Hall Meeting and distribution of clothing, walk through the Fishtown School Building, and school supplies.

 

Day 6 - Saturday, December 12:  Dinner/Ball - Administration Building or City Hall 

  • 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM Barriken - Fourth tour

  • Town Hall Meeting and distribution of clothing and school supplies.

  • 12:00 PM Lunch 

  • 1: 00 PM - 3:00 PM Pledebo border - Liberia/Ivory Coast border, to see the bridge construction. No transportation provided. Come in your own vehicle.

  • 8:00 PM - "Wee-Wee Hours": Dinner & Ball

    • An elegant evening of celebration! Gentlemen are encouraged to wear Grebo attire, and women in African fashion. (tickets: Students $7, Standard $ 20/person, VIP $ 50/person)

 

Day 7 - Sunday, December 13: Farewell & Departure

  • Morning: Church Service (for those staying back).

  • Day: Departure.
