Be the Change: Community Unites for a Successful Clean-Up in Old Kru Town!

"Be the change you want to see." This powerful motto perfectly encapsulated the spirit of today's efforts! On Saturday, April 12, 2025, "Marylanders Return To Your Roots 2025" (MRTYR 2025) successfully collaborated with the Harper City Corporation Workers for another impactful Clean-Up Campaign.

Adding to the excitement, we were pleasantly surprised and incredibly grateful to be joined by dedicated volunteers from the Maryland County Red Cross! Their participation underscored the growing community spirit and shared commitment to our mission.

MRTYR 2025's core objective remains steadfast: to give back to Maryland County and support the communities where we were born, raised, or once lived. Every clean-up, every initiative, is a step towards fulfilling that unwavering commitment.

Our heartfelt thanks go out to our truly wonderful volunteers! This incredible group comprised TU students, High School students, engaged Community Dwellers, and, of course, the Maryland County Red Cross team.

A huge shout-out and special appreciation to Christopher Jarka, affectionately known as Archie, for his outstanding leadership in guiding our volunteer group. We also extend our gratitude to the hardworking Mayor Abraham B. Jackson for his invaluable support. And to Audrey, thank you for the delicious and much-appreciated food that energized our volunteers!

We warmly welcome every Marylander or associate to join us in this endeavor. Your significant contributions will be remembered by history as we work together to make a lasting difference.

Below, you'll find pictures capturing the spirit and hard work from today's clean-up campaign in Old Kru Town, Harper City, Maryland County, Liberia.
